Riahi has previously been a jury member at various film festivals. She has also been responsible for selecting films for a number of cinematic events.
She has been a jury member at the 21st Kolkata International Film Festival in India, the 10th Third Eye Asian Film Festival in India, Iran's Film Critics and Writers Association of the 7th Cinema Vérité, etc.
Riahi is also a member of The Network For Promotion of Asian & Asia Pacific Cinema (NETPAC).
Her short film ‘Driving Lessons’ brought her considerable successes and was qualified for the short film category of the Oscars 2020.
Moreover, the Manhattan Short Film Festival in the US included the short flick in its list of “must have” finalists.
Established in 2000 as a channel of communication between Italy and Asia, the Asiatica Film Festival will screen 20 feature films, documentaries and short films from 18 countries in its 21st edition.
A statement on the festival’s official website reads, “Asiatica has also hosted exhibitions, live performances and special sections that enriched the cinematographic experience with other cultural expressions. The combination of more kinds of events aims to bring the Italian public closer to Eastern cultures, fostering a deeper knowledge of the social, economic and political matters that interest the Asian continent”.
The festival offers three awards of City of Rome Award for Best Feature Film in competition, NETPAC Award (Network for Promotion of Asian Cinema), and Audience Award.
The 2020 edition of the event will be held on December 18-22.
